The oaks of Mamre
Abram moved his tent to the oaks of Mamre at Hebron and built an altar to the Lord after he revealed the promised land of Canaan and how numerous his offspring shall be. (Genesis 13) Abram lived by the oaks of Mamre from time to time. (Genesis 14) His tent was here when the Lord prophesied Isaac's birth in Sarah's earshot before leaving to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. (Genesis 18)
